Thanks, Marcia Watson, for alerting us to the GLAM Workbench. It’s revealed that my paternal great-grandfather was a feminist! In 1894, he signed the South Australian Women’s Suffrage Petition, which was then passed by that State’s Parliament, making South Australia the first electorate in the world to give equal political rights to both men and women.
