Highlights from Light Regional Council, South Australia

Date:
By Mr Ian Simon

I have been looking at the Light Council website and came across a couple things.

1. The old timber bridge at Angle Vale collapsed recently. Some of you may remember it.

2. The site lists councils which provide the ability to search cemetery burial registers in their area. Also lists cemeteries in its area.
BUT other councils also have cemetery burial registers - I have discovered that Charles Sturt, Barossa, and Wakefield also have BRs. So if your council is not listed I suggest going to their website and search for "cemetery".
Several councils have done a lot of work providing photographs of headstones, and biographical information. Some include ex-church cemeteries they now have responsibility for.
I hope this spurs you to find more dead relatives!
