Yvonne Coate OAM 1937 - 2022Foundation Member No 7Life Fellow
It is with great sadness that FamilyHistoryWA learnt of the passing of FHWA Life Member and Fellow Yvonne Coate OAM. Yvonne was a Foundation Member of the WA Genealogical Society in 1979, Member No 7. She was also the inaugural editor of Western Ancestor journal and served in that capacity for three years, as well as Vice-President. It is for the extraordinary photographs and research which resulted in the production of the Lonely Graves website and subsequent books of the same name, that she and her husband Kevin are remembered. In 2009 Yvonne was awarded an OAM for services to the community, particularly in the recording of Western Australian history, eco-tourism and conservation. Our sincere condolences to the Coate family, Vale Yvonne Coate.
