Online Data Searching

What you can search

FamilyHIstoryWA holds over 80 data sets containing nearly two million records in searchable tables. Half of these are available to Members Only - see atttached list.

They focus on Western Australia and comprise data from a wide range of public, private and church records.  These include newspaper notices, cemetery transcriptions. church baptisms and marriages.

The Jan James Private Avon Valley Collection, for example, is a unique and rich resource about early West Australian families.  It is currently being indexed by FHWA volunteers.  It includes thousands of records about Western Australians living and working in the Avon Valley such as births, deaths, marriages, occupations and some photographs. And much more.

Other indexes being currently updated are the births, deaths and marriages announcements from Western Australian newspapers, memorial and honour boards and the Western Australian Cemetery Transcriptions.
