WA Convicts Website Project

Convicts from all ships have been loaded. The status of the project is explained in the "Change Log" option on the website menu.
We still have a lot to add to the website. The activities that we are working on include:-
- correct any errors as we become aware of them and add in any extra information which we receive .
- add any references to convicts in books or other publications that we come across (ongoing).
- a big catch up on adding newspaper links which are ready to go.
- finish adding missing Millbank or Pentonville PCOM2 links where they are available (where we currently only have HO24 links) - done
- add baptisms, census records & marriages for remaining convicts known to have descendants (where we have confidence in the data)
- add ToodyayTOL images and Perth TOL 1386/1 images to convicts whom we know are being researched (done) - done
- where we have confidence in the data, add previous transportation conviction details to convicts pages and links files
- add pages for the "Parkhurst Lads" - done
- add Ancestry prison register links for convicts whom we know are being researched - done
- add accomplice links - done
- add family links - done
- add TOL History from the Rica Erickson Collection for convicts that we know are being researched (done).
- for convicts convicted in Scotland add at least one link to Scottishindexes.com where possible. (done)
- review convict deaths in the Bicentennial Dictionary to make sure that we haven't missed anything. (done)
- add probate links (where they exist) for convicts that we know are being researched. (done)
- add page numbers and links to the Perth TOL 1386 registers (items 2-6) - done.
- add marriage records and sources for all convict marriages quoted in "Convicts of Western Australia" (done where we could find sources)
- add indexes for as many ticket of leave registers as possible (all registers that have been indexed now have indexes on the website).
- adding convictions from the F2A, F3, F4 & V23 Registers of Local Prisoners (in progress - F4 , V23 done). It will take some time!
- B & A Buchanan indexed a lot of correspondence registers which are available on microfilm and some also on Ancestry. The 5 registers for Cons 488 (WA Governor Letterbooks) have been added to the website. There are approx 16 indexes for Cons 1156 (Comptroller General of Prisons correspondence) which have also been added to the website.
- add links to convict entries in the Registers of Correspondence Numbers (summary details of letter chains by convict). Cons 1156 C53 and F1 have had details added to each convict's page but we are only adding indexes for the other correspondence registers. C52 is in progress.
- create indexes for the other registers of correspondence in Cons 1156 that were not done by the Buchanan's - approx 50 registers available on Ancestry.com - in progress.
- add links to Worcester court records which have been added to Ancestry (in progress).
- add convict witnesses to Supreme Court cases (done but not exhaustively, happy to add more).
- review SA Prison records for prisoners from WA - done.
- add links to the 1903 Electoral Roll - in progress.
- Add links to the EPG website for convicts with marriage links to Enrolled Pensioner Guards - in progress.
