Eastern Australian Interest Group : On Location - Trips to Unearth Family History

Our August meeting will be talking about going "on location" for our family history research.  Some of our members will be telling us about their experiences - the successes and the pitfalls!!

One of the best things about this type of group discussion is finding out what others have learned and being able to apply that to our own plans.  

Today, Glenys Hatch will be telling us about her experience when she travelled to Torres Island to find out about a relative.

Do you have experiences that you can share with the group?  We really want to hear about it.  If you have been on a trip with the aim of learning about your family history, how did you prepare for the trip and how did it go?  Did you have a main objective, or were you taking the "magpie" approach?
