The Convict Interest Group is heading to Pinjarra on July 9th to explore the convict history of the region.  The Murray Districts Historical Society will be welcoming our group to town.

We will meet at St John's Church, one of the oldest in the state at 10.45 for an 11.00am start to our talks.  Several guest speakers have generously offered to share their research relating to a few of the convicts who contributed to Pinjarra's development.

At 12.30 we will walk across the road to the historic Edenvale precinct for a simple lunch.

From 1.30 onwards The Murray Districts Historical Society will be offering guided walks through town (weather permitting), and the Museum will be open until 3.00pm.

This event is free.  If you wish to join us for lunch the cost will be $15.00 per person, payable in advance.

Pinjarra residents and all other members of the public are welcome to attend.  Some members may choose to carpool; when you register, please mention this if you are interested.

Register your interest in attending via email to

We hope you can join us!
