Digitalarkivet is the digital archives collection of the National Archives of Norway. You will find Norwegian newpapers are in Norwegian only, but the majority of the site has a very good English language version, so language is generally not a barrier.
The majority of the digitised material originates from archives located at the National Archives in Oslo and regional archives. There is also digitised material from municipal archives, museums and libraries available.
The records available include the old land register (Gammel Grunnbok), pledge books and pledge book registers (indexes), parish registers, censuses, court records and probate records.
