As Australian men deployed to the various fronts of the Second World War, women ably stepped into the void they left in the workforce at home. The need for their service in the Royal Naval Services soon became clear.
Gwyn Williams will give a talk on the Women's Royal Australian Naval Service (WRANS) and the UK Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS).
Do you have a relative who served in the Navy? Come along and tell us her story...or yours! Or share her story over a cuppa during afternoon tea (gold coin donation appreciated).
